Seger Handoyo

Starting from his interest to cooperate and investigate organizations, Seger Handoyo chose to enroll at the Department of Psychology, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). The presence of supports from his surroundings made him love Psychology more. Seger then was appointed as a lecturer at UNAIR while continuing his masters degree in 1993, and finished his doctoral program in 2006 at the University of Indonesia. There are three expertise areas mastered by Seger: industrial psychology, leadership, and decision making. To keep adding his knowledge in those areas, Seger, born in Bojonegoro, has attended a number of training programs both inside the country and abroad. A number of training programs he has ever attended either as a participant or as a speaker are “Psychodiagnostic” by Indonesian Psychology Association (HIMPSI), “Teaching Skills” by Institute of Education Enhancement and Development, UNAIR (LP3UA), Active Didactic Method in Teaching Psychology” by Psychology Faculty, UNAIR, and “Information and Labour Market” by Deutsche Stiftung für Entwicklung Internationale in Germany. There are at least three research papers being published, among others, namely “Education Institution Organization Learning of Competitive Programs as A Motivating Factor”, “Measurement of Servant Leadership as Leadership Alternative in Higher Education Institutions in Organization Change Period”, and “Relationship between Servant Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior”. Seger started his career as a lecturer in 1991.

He has a long list of teaching experiences. Some courses taught by him are “Human Management in Organization”, “Decision Making Model”, “Individual Development in Organization”, “Leadership and Coaching”, and “Logical and Science Methods”. In the field of professional organizations, he was appointed as Chairman of the Indonesian Psychology Association, East Java Chapter (2008–2011 and 2011– 2014). He also became Chairman of the Indonesian Psychology Higher Education Administrator Association in 2011– 2013. Besides that, Seger also revived the Institute of Assessment and Development of Applied Psychology (LP3T) to its robust present condition.
